About the Place: 

Kabirwad is a famous place situated on an island in the middle of the river Narmada. It can be reached by boats that operate to and from the Shuklatirth Shiva temple. It has an incredible grove of a banyan tree that has grown over the years and now occupies an area of almost 3 km. The place is named after the famous Saint Kabir who lived here for many years. It also has an imposing Kabir Temple where visitors & worshippers come to pray. Thus people visit Kabirwad not just for historical reasons but also to enjoy the solitude and sanctity offered by this huge banyan tree.

How to get there

  • by road By Road The Narmada river runs through Narmada district, along the border of Vadodara district, and through Bharuch district, emptying near the city of Bharuch into the sea. There are various sites along the way, and therefore various ways to visit the river. Bharuch, Rajpipla, Chanod, and Dabhoi are accessible by buses. The Sardar Sarovar dam site can be reached by private vehicle.
